Wednesday July 16th 2008

Due to popular demand the Antidote event on Wednesday July 16th was Speed Networking.

We started running these events last year and had a great reaction from you all; not only have we had huge responses (previously up to 80 bookings!) but we also got some superb feedback, with lots of you asking for it again on a regular basis – your wish is our command!!

Speed Networking is a great way to meet and connect with lots of people, tell them about what you do, what you are looking for and have some real fun. It’s fast- paced, a great way to connect with lots of people and brilliant way of tuning up your networking skills. Remember to bring lots of business cards! An easily-read badge will help to ‘break the ice’ too.

“I came to the Antidote for the speed-networking evening and made more contacts in 45 minutes than I would normally make in a month or more - brilliant!!” – Richard Dicks, Mortgage Advice & Protection Solutions, Norwich.

Wednesday 18th June 2008

At the June 2008 Antidote event we were delighted to welcome

Tim Williams - Deputy Editor of the East Evening News

Tim's presentation focused on how local businesses owners can access and use the media to promote their enterprise.

Very few business owners really understand how they can build a relationship with local media and as a result miss out on some excellent opportunities.

Tim also discussed:

  • How the modern media works and how it can help your business.
  • What channels are at your disposal to help promote your business and the differing demands and requirements of print, online, radio and television.
  • What is the media landscape locally?
  • How to build successful relationships with media contacts and why it is important for your business.
  • How to write the perfect press release and understanding what the media want from you.

  • What makes an interesting story/article/feature - and what doesn't.
  • How to make sure your email is read and acted upon by the media.
  • Speed Networking LIVE!!

    Special Event Antidote

    Wednesday 16th April 08

    Doors open at 6pm – closes 9pm

Norwich North – Holiday Inn (Near the Airport)

For this special event Antidote we are inviting you to join us for some fun and experience ‘Speednetworking’ – we ran this event last year and had a massive success; not only did we have a huge response (over 80 bookings!) but we also got some great feedback, with lots of you asking for it again!!

Speednetworking is a great way to meet and connect with lots of people tell them about what you do, what you are looking for and have some real fun. It’s fast- paced, a great way to connect with lots of people and brilliant way of tuning up your networking skills. Remember to bring lots of business cards!

If you’ve not tried it before this is how it works:-

Come armed with your ‘elevator pitch’ – a brief introduction of who you are, what your business service/product is all about and (most importantly) what you are looking for (e.g. more customers, recommendations, affinity partners, new suppliers, funding, support, etc.). You then have a chance to spend no more than 5 minutes with each new delegate and exchange this information. Not surprisingly you wont be able to speak with everyone in the room but certainly make lots of new contacts.

When the whistle blows it’s time to move on, once you’ve grabbed contact details from each other of course! This type of networking is a great way to ‘connect’ with more people and just find out what’s happening on the local business scene. It will also help you build confidence and practice the best way to deliver what you’re all about. You’ll pick up tips from the more seasoned networkers as well and see how they do it.

It also great for another reason – you only get about five minutes with each contact, so no getting stuck with someone for hours while trying to think of a polite way to move on!!!

Most of all it’s great FUN! The last time we ran this event we thought we were going to need to call Norfolk Police to break up the party!!

We’d love you to join us on the Wednesday 19th and say goodbye to 2007 with a bang! You can book now and we’d encourage you to CLICK HERE now, as places are limited and we’re likely to have another big event.

Please do also invite business friends, colleagues and associates to join us, especially if they’ve not yet experienced the Antidote – we’d like to make this event a big success for everyone.

    Wednesday 19th March 07

    Richard Jackson
    Maximise your sales performance.

    Guest Speaker - Richard Jackson

Norwich North – Holiday Inn (Near the Airport)
Sales Cybernetics Your Path to Peak Sales Performance

Rarely does the opportunity arise to experience a genuinely new approach to the perennial problem of sales performance.

Managing Directors and Business Owners in all types of businesses are looking for ways to create sustainable, positive change - change that delivers noticeable results on the bottom line, month after month.

We are delighted to invite you to attend the Antidote this month and find out how you can use powerful and effective methodologies to accelerate your sales performance and that of your staff. Richard Jackson is a well known figure in the region and highly respected proponent of personal development and training. Almost 25 years ago Richard, with his business partner, formed Mancroft Training and went on to create a flagship product; the Winning Edge.

Over 120,000 delegates have experienced Mancroft's programmes (personally, not by product!), which have been delivered in 10 countries worldwide; an enviable track record and coveted by many other training organisations!

"Creating Sales Cybernetics wasn't difficult but it's taken me over 24 years. I've researched what creates 'peak performers' and developed a formula that is simple and easy to adopt - now I'm going to share this knowledge with you!" - Richard Jackson, Co-Creator of Sales Cybernetics.

During Richard's 60 minute presentation you'll learn a completely new approach to sales development. This is NOT a sales training programme like most others; it is not based on sales skills or experience. It is NOT about the product/service, the customer or even the sales process. You'll learn about:

    - How Brain-to-Brain Selling actually takes place
    - The vital role Psycho-Linguistics plays in selling
    - How to create positive goal setting that takes you to your target
    - Replicating positive behaviour patterns of Peak Performers
    - How to adopt and embed positive changes to create ongoing results

It doesn't matter what level of skill or experience you or your team have in sales, this approach works for sales professionals at all levels serious about increasing results and creating sustainable change.

We've been waiting nearly 2 years to invite Richard to speak for us and we are delighted to final secure him for the Antidote. We invite you to attend this month and experience this top-rated training and development guru for yourself.

    Are you Failing to Succeed?

    Brian Bush
In Feb 07 the Antidote were delighted to welcome acclaimed business speaker and local entrepreneur Brian Bush.

Brian is the Business Development Manager at Zoom Zoom www.zoomzoom.co.uk

    Brian spoke on the folowing

Ask any successful business person and they’ll tell you there’s a very fine line between success and failure. Certainly some of the great entrepreneurs of our modern time have experienced both extremes. So what can we do to navigate around the failures and enjoy the rewards of a successful enterprise and how do we know to spot the risks and the opportunities that lie before us?

Brian Bush is a businessman who excels in the online environment. After decades of operating in a range of tough commercial environments he set up his own company buyour Limited in 2004 to realise a long-held ambition – to provide products that the public need, directly to them at a price that they can afford, within an easy-to-navigate website. But it has not all gone to plan. The first venture did not get past the first year of trading and the second is currently being developed for launch in February this year. Following a highly successful career path in sales and account management Brian was involved in the development of a creative marketing agency, set up his own business development company, Ambbush, and has recently been appointed to the Board of top local web agency ZOOMZOOM.

Acclaimed for his forthright and transparent speaking style Brian is known for sharing it all; the highs and the lows of being a true entrepreneur. If you missed his only speaking presentation last year here’s your chance to hear him at the Antidote this month.

“This is what the Antidote is all about, real people willing to share real stories and experiences to help us on our own journey!” – Nial Adams, Founder of the Antidote Network

“Failing to Succeed – Do you need to fail before you can really be successful”

    Brian will discuss the route to success or failure drawing from his own experience to demonstrate his views. As a seasoned businessman he has worked in and dealt with all types and sizes of company and can draw from situations and experiences over a varied 25 year career. During the presentation you will discover;

    1. How to spot the real opportunities from the fool’s gold
    2. When to act to ensure you steal the lead in you field
    3. How to read the important warning signs and what to do about them
    4. Facing failure head on and navigating out of it quickly
    5. Turning failure into success and staying there
