I joined the Antidote Network team in the summer of 2006. I help with the general organisation and marketing of Antidote. I'm keen to help those who attend our events to connect with each other and anyone else I know in a way that could be beneficial to them.

I've personally seen how networking, affinity and referral marketing can generate huge amounts of business for little or no investment. I would encourage you to look for and create real opportunities by helping others to succeed and achieve their business aspirations.

I've been in field sales and marketing for around ten years and had the good fortune to have been in some of the biggest and best salesforces in the UK. The sales and marketing training I received was incredible and although working in a profit target orientated environment can sometimes be tough I gained valuable experience to be able to go on and run my own business.

Working as a financial adviser at Friends Provident I worked in both personal and business finance. At FP I strengthened my financial acumen and learnt valuable field sales and marketing techniques that any business can employ to bring in more profits. We were taught to monitor our sales and marketing activity in a way that provided useful management information and gave us the best chance of reaching our business goals. I also enjoyed helping the more senior advisers market themselves and helped bring in some very valuable contracts. My interest, enthusiasm and success in generating new business for other advisers made me realise I needed to get more involved with marketing.

Rather than spend time in the classroom learning marketing theory I decided to join Yellow Pages and enjoy the benefits of their sales and marketing training. During my time at Yellow Pages I consulted with over 600 business owners. It was a real eye opener and fantastic experience to witness at first hand how they all did business. It was a diverse and enlightening experience that took me into the heart of real business. Although I was there to sell advertising space I couldn't help soak up all the many different ways businesses market themselves. Some of my clients were really inspirational and innovative, I saw how they competed in the market place and successfully sold new products and services to benefit existing happy clients. After 2 years of driving all over East Anglia I thought it would be good to set up my own business. As I was a top performer selling YP web sites and internet marketing I thought setting up a company that offered sales consultancy and web sites would be a good idea.

In 2003 I launched my first real business. The field sales and marketing experience gained working at FP and YP was particularly useful and helped us punch well above our weight in a very competitive market place. I built up a client base of dozens of businesses that happily told me they were pleased with the results achieved from our services. By 2006 I felt I had taken the company as far as I could without changing the way we operated and sold my shareholding to my business partner who was keen to continue to provide the same ongoing service.

Later on I launched my current business called Momentum and also teamed up with Nial Adams who is the Founder of the Antidote network and owner of Positive Response. Together we provide a practical sales and marketing service for business owners and mangers who are trying to or want to improve their business profits. From my experience at Yellow Pages I know that many business people are very good at providing their core service but sometimes need help to sustain or grow their business with more emphasis on sales and marketing.

Small, medium and even PLCs will benefit from the flexible sales and marketing service provided. They can then concentrate on doing what they are good at and enjoy the benefits of working with someone who makes it their business to provide Momentum for business growth.
